It is a great pleasure to wish all members and staff of Press Club Brussels every good wish for a peaceful, prosperous and productive 2020
This last year was and exciting and historic year, with the Press Club Brussels Europe taking on the double presidencies of the European Federation of Press Clubs and the International association of Press Clubs
In December the Ambassador of Kahzakhstan, HE Aigul Kuspan presented your Press Club Brussels and award for contributing to discussion and understanding of Kazakhstan in Brussels. I was pleased to accept the award on your behalf from the ambassador.
December also saw the launch of an exciting new initiative generated by our Executive Director Laurent Brihay – “The World Press Clubs Alliance for Climate” on the Friday 23 October 2020 over 120 press clubs, involving more than 20,000 journalists worldwide will take part in a marathon 24 hour non-stop press conference over 24 time zones in order to highlight positive climate actions and innovations. So please put this important date in your diary!
Many of you will have joined me and the team just before Christmas for a seasonal drinks event, this year focused on « link Brussels with EU » and organised in partnership with BX1, Visit Brussels and the Office of the Brussels Commissioner for Europe and International Organisations.
