EUROCHAMBRES, just before the start of the von der Leyen Commission, has conducted a Europe-wide survey among businesses to have a response to the question: what are the main barriers to doing business in 2019?
More than a thousand businesses from all EU Member States have shared their views and EUROCHAMBRES compiled them in a compelling report showcasing the current state of the Single Market. 70% of businesses answer “NO” to the question “Is the Single Market sufficiently integrated, allowing your company to operate and compete freely”. Alongside the most important obstacles, the report also includes a list of the businesses’ most favoured solutions to the obstacles to trade.
An overview of the survey results will be presented at the business breakfast, after which EUROCHAMBRES President, Christoph Leitl, will initiate a discussion on the policy implications for the new European Commission. Olivier Girard, Head of Unit Competitiveness, Innovation & Digital Europe, Secretariat-General European Commission will subsequently respond.
