Minister of Digital Affairs of Taiwan

Friday, 30th June 2023

14:00 – 15:30 CET ( Brussels time)

Press Club Brussels Europe – Rue Froissart 95, 1000 Brussels

Entrance via Crossroads Froissart – Belliard

The European Foundation for Democracy cordially invites you to an in-person event with Taiwan’s Minister for Digital Affairs Audrey Tang.

The exchange of views will be a unique opportunity to hear from a policymaker who is also a leading figure in digital governance and an advocate for transparency and citizen participation. Minister Tang will share Taiwan’s experience on how civic technology with social innovation can be used to challenge disinformation and build trust in the government.

A child prodigy who dropped off the formal education system, Audrey Tang has built a reputation as hacker and digital rights activist. Before joining the Government as Minister of Digital Affairs in 2016, she worked for the private sector, including Apple, Oxford University Press, and others on fields including computational linguistics, crowd lexicography, and social interaction design.

Please, note that due to the European Council on 30th June, the only access to the Press Club is via the Crossroads Froissart – Belliard (exit metro Rond-Point Schuman is closed)
