Thursday 12 October from 09:00 to 10:00:

Press briefing with a delegation of women from the Gulf Coast of the United States.

The women will provide first-hand testimonies from the frontline as they are directly impacted by liquefied fossil gas (LNG) and petrochemical expansion in the U.S.

The delegation aims to raise awareness about the devastating climate, health and safety impacts on local communities, fueled by the EU’s LNG import boom while EU decision-makers discuss methane emissions and gas market rules.

The press briefing will be the occasion to discuss a range of interrelated topics such as the threats posed by fracking, the social inequalities resulting from the LNG rush, the risk of fossil fuel lock-in and the increase of greenhouse gas emissions.
