Public event: “RISING TO THE CHALLENGE:
Oxfam’s recommendations to the Spanish and Belgian Presidencies of the EU”
Rational:
The Spanish and the Belgian Presidencies of the EU Council are the last EU presidencies before entering into the elections period in 2024. Organising a public event in Brussels is an opportunity to engage in a debate with relevant stakeholders around some of the most relevant files at stake. The EU-LAC relationships and the proposal for a Due Diligence Directive are two of the most important due to its impact in the EU position in the world.
Objective:
With this event Oxfam seeks to raise attention and facilitate discussions amongst relevant institutional, academic, private sector and civil society actors that are involved in the two chosen topics, generating a debate to bring diverse perspectives around the table.
