Breakfast briefing of the ACP Eminent Persons Group (EPG), chaired by H.E Chief Olusegun Obasanjo former President of the Republic of Nigeria

ACP OBASONJOOn Tuesday 3rd November, The Secretary General of the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States H.E Dr. Patrick I. Gomes cordially invited the Press Corps to a breakfast briefing of the ACP Eminent Persons Group (EPG), chaired by H.E Chief Olusegun Obasanjo former President of the Republic of Nigeria focusing on the progress of the EPG’s work on the future of the ACP Group, its role in the global arena and its relations with the EU and the world. With 79 member states, the ACP Group is the largest intergovernmental organisation of developing countries with its Secretariat based in Brussels. The ACP works closely with the EU on trade, development cooperation and political dialogue, in the most comprehensive agreement of its kind in the world. The EPG will make recommendations on key reforms to the ACP as an organisation, in light of the post-2015 development agenda and the end of the current cooperation agreement with the EU in 2020. Their final report will be submitted to ACP Heads of State & Government in May 2016.
