On the 3rd and 4th of December, the citizen’s movement Stand Up for the United States of Europe organised at the Press Club in collaboration with the European Federalist Party and USE Now the 6th European Federalist Convention.
This event marked an important milestone in the structuring of an effective federalist movement in Europe following the decision taken by the 3 aforementioned associations to merge into 1 organisation called Stand Up for Europe. By uniting their resources into a unique organisation, the european federalists intend to exert much more influence in the public discourse and rally politicians and citizens alike in the persuit of a Federal Europe. Following the merger, Stand Up for Europe has the ambition of
o growing from more than 75.000 Facebook fans to more than 1 million and from 1000 paying members to more than 5000 by 2018
o significantly increasing its city sections and university societies throughout Europe
o recruiting many more personalities to join our Support Committee currently comprised of more than 80 renowned personalities including 10 MEPs
Stand Up for Europe also intends to actively participate in the planned celebrations of the Rome Treaty in march 2017
