This conference jointly organised by the Centre Kantar sur le Futur de l’Europe and Europe Jacques Delors at the Press Club Brussels Europe on the 3rd March 2020 placed citizens’ attitudes towards climate change and the environment at the centre of the debate on the European Green Deal. How do European citizens perceive climate change and the environmental challenges facing our society? What role do they assign to the European Union and themselves in tackling these?On the basis of the latest Eurobarometer results provided by Kantar, experts from the European Commission, NGOs, Europe Jacques Delors and Kantar discussed how the European Green Deal should be designed to foster the support and engagement of citizens in the societal transition ahead, with a special focus on the energy and agricultural sectors.
