What are the prospects for the EU after the Brexit referendum? Why did David Cameron not make greater use of the February deal? Should the EU have intervened in the campaign? What are the options now for both sides?
On Thursday 13th October, the Cambre-Newington Brexit taskforce organized a policy breakfast with Jonathan Faull, outgoing head of the European Commission “Taskforce on Strategic Issues related to the UK referendum”.
Jonathan Faull is a Director General and the most senior Brit in the European Commission. Until end September Mr. Faull is head of the Commission’s taskforce for dealing with “strategic issues related to the UK referendum” reporting directly to President Juncker. On 1 October, leadership of the taskforce will be taken over by Michel Barnier. Mr. Faull is a former Director-General for Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union (FISMA) and previously for Justice, Freedom and Security. He joined the Commission in 1978, and is also a professor of law at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and the College of Europe.
This event is co-organised with Newington, our London-based Brexit taskforce partner agency.
