“Brussels on Stage” runs all through November with 15 participating locations

This is the third edition of the first cafe-theatres festival in Brussels. Called “Brussels on Stage”, it showcases local culture. The local culture that brings joy to all parts of capital and its inhabitants.

In 2016, 15 cafe-theatres offered four days of shows. Since last year, the festival has developed and is being held this year from 1st to 30th November. No less than 15 cafe-theatres are participating in this year’s edition. The concept remains the same: The venues offer their usual programming but enhanced for the occasion to make themselves better known and to reach another type of audience. A wide variety of shows are on offer with a mixture of music, comedy, theatre, poetry… All accompanied by a drink of a meal.

A discount pass to take full advantage of the festival.
The COCOF and visit.brussels have joined forces to offer the public a pass at the advantageous price of 20 Euros. Pass holders (available for purchase atwww.bruxellessurscenes.be or at participating locations) will be able to see 15 shows (one at each participating cafe-theatre). The opportunity to enjoy a moment of relaxation at a good price, to try something different and discover these cultural places in Brussels that are very pleasant but still not well-known.

When setting up the event three years ago, I wanted to make Brussels on Stage a real showcase of cafe-theatres. The success we had last year, with some 2000 spectators flocking to theatres throughout the month of November, reinforces the idea that we are moving in the right direction. Therefore, we have once again given our support for this 2018 edition. In my view, it’s critical that we respect each venue’s way of doing things, especially by preserving their complete control over their programming. On the other hand, it makes sense to bolster their operating budgets and offer a window into these different places that forge the soul and cultural identity of Brussels,” Fadila Laanan, Minister-President of the Brussels Francophone Government.

Curious, tempted, interested? It is time to discover the cultural life that brings to life all the different areas of the European capital. Guaranteed to be emotional. Welcome to “Brussels on Stage”!
