BRUSSELS/DÜSSELDORF. The North Rhine-Westphalian CDU MEP Dennis Radtke was re-elected as Social Policy Spokesperson of the EPP Group in the European Parliament this Wednesday in Strasbourg. “I am very pleased to be able to continue to lead the EPP Group in the European Parliament’s Committee on Employment and Social Affairs,” said Radtke after his re-election and described the important tasks ahead of him: “There is still a lot to do on the road to a more social Europe and we as the EPP Group want to take the lead in this. The great confidence of my colleagues motivates me to continue working actively for a socially just Europe.” In his function as coordinator, Radtke decides, for example, on the distribution of legislative and non-legislative files and generally steers the work in the committee.
“Whether European minimum wage, strengthening the rights of platform workers, Social Climate Fund or care, the list of projects for the next two and a half years is long. For the second half of the legislative period, we still have a wide field to plough in European social policy,” commented the 42-year-old MEP from Bochum on the tasks ahead of him.
Dennis Radtke is also Deputy Federal Chair of the Christian Democratic Workers’ Association (CDA), the workers’ wing of the CDU.
