EEAS: Media Advisory: Press briefing on the Afghanistan Conference 2020

Today, 20 November at 14:30, an off-the-record briefing for accredited journalists will take place ahead of the 2020 Afghanistan Conference. The briefing will be given by EU officials.

Journalists already accredited to the EU institutions will have received the link through which to participate via the European Commission.

Journalists not accredited to the EU institutions can register to participate until 12:00 midday CET today by sending an email to COMM-PRESSROOM-TEAM@ec.europa.eu (link sends e-mail) attaching:

National ID card or passport (non EU-citizens must provide a passport).

Valid national press card or a press card issued by the International Federation of Journalist

Or, if you don’t have a valid national press card, a scanned copy of a letter by your editor-in-chief or an official email from your head office confirming that they request access for you for that particular day/event.

Ahead of the Conference, the EU and its Member States, together with the key international donors to Afghanistan, set out the political and governance conditions for future international political and financial support to Afghanistan. These conditions are outlined in the document entitled “Key Elements for Sustained International Support to Peace and Development in Afghanistan”, which is available online.
