The European Policy Centre is delighted to invite you to this Policy Dialogue, in partnership with the European Foundation for Democracy.
This Policy Dialogue will bring to the debate the views and experience of actors close to or from grassroots organisations on how best to tackle jihadist radicalisation in local communities. Grassroots organisations have an important role in this respect and community-led interventions need to be facilitated in order to stop radicalisation in its initial stages. Community groups, including civil society, Muslim organisations and others are already targeting individuals or groups vulnerable to radicalising narratives or on the brink of radicalisation, as well as those who have already been radicalised. The objective is to provide credible alternatives and positive narratives, as well as exposing and challenging terrorist and extremist propaganda.
Involving grassroots actors in the debate is key to defining how institutions at European and national level can better support their work and contribute to promoting social justice, tolerance and European democratic fundamental rights and values.
