King Baudouin Foundation: 2019 in a few key figures

We are facing some major challenges as a result of the COVID-19 health crisis. In this situation the King Baudouin Foundation aims to play its part in society more than ever, both by meeting needs on the ground and by encouraging solidarity. You can find a general overview of the initiatives being carried out by and through the Foundation via this link.

Nevertheless, it is also important to us to be transparent about our activities. In 2019 the Foundation has been able to make a difference in many areas and on various levels, both locally and elsewhere in Belgium, in Europe and throughout the world. Health, poverty and social justice, activities in Africa and in developing countries, heritage, sustainable development and European engagement are just a few of the sectors in which we have been able to engage in a variety of activities thanks to partners, experts and donors who invest their own resources alongside us.

Specifically, in 2019 the King Baudouin Foundation:
• provided 66,151,801 euros in support to 345 individuals and 2.459 organisations
• brought together 3,194 experts on our independent juries and committees
• launched 157 calls for projects
• maintained accounts for 801 active private and company Funds
• issued 67 publications and distributed almost 32,000 copies.

During the month of June 2020, we will also be placing our detailed accounts for 2019 online, as well as our full activity report. If you visit www.kbs-frb.be you will also find details of the members of the Board of Directors, the Advisory Committee and a large number of steering groups, support committees, management committees and independent juries who work on our calls for projects.

With thanks to the National Lottery and its players, and also to our many donors for their valued support.
