Launch of the HEY Campaign

Bridgetown, Barbados, 28th May 2021 – The Ashley Lashley Foundation in partnership with UNICEF Eastern Caribbean Office is hosting a virtual launch of the HEY (Healthy and Environmentally Friendly Youth) Campaign on June 4th, 2021 at 10 AM AST on our Facebook page:  The HEY Campaign.

The HEY Campaign is a Caribbean-initiated campaign on Climate Change and Health, which seeks to build bridges between the youth in the Caribbean and the wider global community. This campaign comprises of forty (40) active climate activists between the ages of nine (9) and twenty-six (26) years-old from Afghanistan, Aruba, Bahamas, Bangladesh, Barbados, Bhutan, Brazil, Cameroon, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Ghana, Haiti, Jamaica, India, Mexico, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Senegal, Trinidad and Tobago, Uganda and United States of America.

Special remarks are expected to be delivered by the Prime Minister of Barbados The Right Honorable Mia Amor Mottley; Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Development, Mr. Dwight Sutherland; Special Adviser to the United Nations Secretary-General on Climate Action and  Assistant Secretary-General for the Climate Action Team, Mr. Selwin Hart; Representative of UNICEF Eastern Caribbean Area Office Dr. Aloys Kamuragiye; and Global Climate change Youth  Advocates.
