Media advisory – Accreditation for the European Council on 20 and 21 October 2022

The meeting of the European Council will take place on Thursday 20 and Friday 21 October 2022 in the Europa building in Brussels. Address: Rue de la Loi 155/Wetstraat 155, 1040-Brussels.

Details on media program, available facilities and their opening hours will be communicated in due course to the accredited journalists.

 

Registration
Media representatives wishing to cover the meeting in person are required to register in advance, following this link:

  • The deadline to register is Friday 30, September 2022 at 15:00 CET

Under certain conditions, there will be the possibility for a late accreditation. For more information, please also consult the Media accreditation page.

Media representatives are strongly advised to apply as soon as possible to allow for sufficient time to process the requests.

 

Badge Collection
A media accreditation desk will be set up at the LEX building (Rue de la Loi/Wetstraat 145) outside the security perimeter, to allow for collection of badges during the event.

Opening hours:

  • Wednesday 19 October, from 13:00 to 17:30
  • Thursday 20 October, from 07:30 to 19:00
  • Friday 21 October, from 07:30 to 14:00

 

Press conferences
Information on the joint press conferences and possible national briefings will be shared at a later stage.

 

Media opportunities
A detailed programme will be published at a later stage. Depending on the sanitary conditions and the need to guarantee a safe working environment for everyone, please note that opportunities such as roundtables or doorsteps may be restricted to media pools.

In case capacity limitations apply, in particular for the doorsteps areas, priority would be given to reporters (i.e. journalists asking questions). Host camera and sound services will be available in the area.

Sanitary requirements
Media attending the summit will be required to follow any public health regulations in place at the time, including Belgium entry requirements for those travelling into the country (please check on https://www.info-coronavirus.be/en/travels/), as well as any additional measures that could be decided by the institution to ensure a safe working environment.

If necessary, detailed information on the covid-19 related rules will be communicated in due course.
