The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission, Josep Borrell, will travel to Montenegro on 14 and 15 July. The visit will be an opportunity to review EU-Montenegro bilateral relations under the Stabilisation and Association Agreement and discuss recent developments in Montenegro and in the Western Balkans.
On Thursday, High Representative/Vice-President Borrell will chair the 11th EU-Montenegro Stabilisation and Association Council in Podgorica. Montenegro will be represented by Prime Minister Dritan Abazović. Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement, Oliver Várhelyi, will represent the European Commission.
After the Council, HR/VP Borrell, Prime Minister Abazović and Commissioner Varhelyi will hold a joint press conference at around 11:45, which will be broadcast live on Ebs.
High Representative Borrell will then meet with Prime Minister Abazović, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of European Affairs Marović, Foreign Minister Krivokapić, Minister of Justice Kovač and Parliament Speaker Djurovic.
In the afternoon, High Representative Borrell will exchange with civil society representatives and influencers on Montenegro’s EU path. Audiovisual coverage, including of his introductory remarks, will be available online. The High Representative will then have a meeting with President Milo Đukanović in Cetinje.
On Friday, High Representative/Vice-President Borrell will hold a bilateral meeting with Foreign Minister Krivokapić, which will be followed by a press statement at around 9:30.
