Media advisory: Informal meeting of the EU finance ministers of 5-6 April 2019, Bucharest, Romania
The informal meeting of finance ministers will take place in Bucharest, on 5-6 April 2019. The working sessions will be held at the Palace of the Parliament.
The two-day event will start with the Eurogroup in regular and in inclusive format, scheduled on Friday morning, 5 April. The Eurogroup meeting in inclusive format will cover features of the budgetary instrument for convergence and competitiveness with a focus on governance aspects and the roadmap for beginning political discussions on EDIS.
This will be followed by the working lunch of the finance ministers. On the agenda will be elements of the MFF package of particular interest to the ECOFIN, such as the link with the European Semester and the financing of the EU budget. In the afternoon, finance ministers will be joined by the governors of central banks from EU member states to tackle topics including priorities for the next institutional cycle and the way forward for the Capital Markets Union.
On Saturday 6 April, the agenda will include workforce mobility in the EU, taxation issues and common EU positions for the Washington G20 and IMF meetings.
