EVENT:

Please join us on Thursday, March 14, 2019, for a telephonic press briefing with Ambassador Todd Robinson, Senior Advisor for Central America, in the State Department’s Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs.  Ambassador Robinson will be in Brussels for meetings with EU officials.

As the political and social unrest in Nicaragua approaches its one-year anniversary in April, the United States remains focused on the ongoing systematic repression of the Nicaraguan people as a national security priority.  Ambassador Robinson will speak to the depth of ongoing human rights abuses and violations in Nicaragua, and the critical importance of U.S. and European cooperation in seeing a negotiated solution to the crisis.  Ambassador Robinson also welcomes discussion on U.S. efforts to promote security, prosperity and good governance in Central America.  He will take questions from participating journalists.
