Melissa Verykios appointed Chair of the Clean Hydrogen Partnership Governing Board

Hydrogen Europe is delighted to announce that Melissa Verykios, the Metacon- Helbio S.A. President, Member of the Board of Directors who joined our Board of Directors in June, has been appointed as Chair of the Clean Hydrogen Partnership Governing Board.

Established in November 2021, the Clean Hydrogen Partnership is the public private partnership between the European Commission, Hydrogen Europe, and Hydrogen Europe Research supporting research and innovation (R&I) activities in hydrogen technologies in Europe. With a total budget of over €2 billion, sourced from the EU and private members, its focus is on promoting clean hydrogen production and infrastructure, alongside hydrogen end-use technologies in transport, industry, buildings, and energy.

Melissa Verykios MSc. joined Helbio S.A. in 2016, to restructure financing and internal operations of the company, after having followed a 10-year career in New York and London in financial institutions, including HSBC Private Bank, between 2007-2016. Ms. Verykios holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics & Business, Athens, Greece, and a MSc in Finance at the Barcelona School of Economics, Spain.

At the European Hydrogen Week (24-28.10.2022), her first act as Chair was to open the High-Level Policy conference as well as the R&I Days.

“It is an honour to represent the members of the Clean Hydrogen Partnership as the new chair of the Governing Board,” said Mrs. Verykios. “The EU and the industry members are working together towards a common goal of unlocking hydrogen’s vast potential, to create a sustainable and energy-secure Europe. I am thrilled to contribute to these ambitions.”
