Press Opening of a Censored Exhibition: “Iran and Human Rights” – Wednesday, 21 February at 14:30 – Bibliothèque Solvay

You are cordially invited to the opening of ”Iran and Human Rights” featuring artwork from the Israeli Cartoon Project. This exhibition will showcase cartoons on Tehran’s human rights violations in what the Israeli artists involved consider an act of solidarity with the Iranian people.

Deemed too “controversial” to be displayed in the European Parliament as originally planned, the four Members of Parliament co-hosting the exhibit—Lars Adaktusson (EPP), Péter Niedermüller (S&D), Anders Vistisen (ECR) and Petras Auštrevičius (ALDE)—had to relocate the installation to the Bibliothèque Solvay.

Journalists will have an opportunity to interview Yair Lapid, the head of Israel’s Yesh Atid Party and a Member of the Knesset’s Foreign Affairs Committee, MEP Niedermüller and MEP Vistisen, as well as four of the artists.
