European Biogas Association (EBA) invite media to the launch event of our 2026 awareness campaign, Unlocking Europe’s Own Circular Source of Clean Energy, taking place on 29 September 2026 on the Esplanade of the European Parliament in Brussels at 10 AM.
At a time when Europe is seeking to strengthen its energy security, enhance competitiveness, accelerate decarbonisation and advance circular economy objectives, biogases are increasingly recognised as an important part of the solution. Produced from sustainable biomass, waste and residues, biogases and their co-products can contribute to a more resilient and defossilised European Bioeconomy, creating value for farmers, industries and local communities across the continent.
Building on the success of our 2025 campaign, this year’s initiative aims to encourage dialogue around one central question: What is the key to unlocking biomethane’s full potential?
During the day, representatives from European institutions, academia, the biogases value chain as well as citizens will reflect on the current role of biogases and its further deployment in Europe.
