The European Union and Côte d’Ivoire have enjoyed diplomatic relations since 1961, fostering cooperation in political, economic, and development sectors. Today, there is a strong trade relationship between the two: one third of all Ivorian exports go to the EU, and Côte d’Ivoire is the EU’s leading trade partner in West Africa.
