On the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the assassination of Patrice Émery Lumumba, a press conference will take place on 20 January 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the Press Club Brussels Europe and online, following the procedural review hearing held earlier that day before the Pre-Trial Chamber of the Brussels Court of First Instance.
The event will bring together members of the Lumumba family, the family’s lawyers, and representatives of the European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights (ECCHR), and will be moderated by Geneviève Kaninda (African Futures Lab).
The press conference will be held in English and French.
