You are invited to attend a press conference announcing the filing of new international legal communications
in the José Sócrates Carvalho Pinto de Sousa v. Portugal case.
The conference will take place on 22 January 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Press Club Brussels Europe.
The event will address the submission of a third update to the European Court of Human Rights and a letter of allegation to the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the independence of judges and lawyers, as well as the broader concerns raised regarding judicial independence, fair trial guarantees, and the rule of law in the ongoing proceedings against the former Prime Minister in Portugal.
