On Monday 26 January, the Board Members of Press Club Brussels Europe gathered at the Club to define the thematic cycle of events that will mark its 15th anniversary year. The meeting set the foundations for an ambitious programme addressing some of the most pressing challenges facing journalism, media, and public communication today.

This anniversary cycle will bring together journalists, press officers, and media experts around a series of events hosted at the Press Club throughout the year.

The agreed programme includes the following events:

  • The European Democracy Shield and its impact on journalism, by Oliver Money Kyrle
    • International Women’s Day breakfast: female journalists, diplomats and public affairs challenges in Brussels, by Alia Papageorgiou
    • Independent media: what is new and what is next?, by Natalie Sarkic Tood
    • Conference on AI and fake news, by Georgi Gotev and Pamela Morinière
    • Communicating in Brussels: four perspectives from the inside, by António Buscardini
    • The challenges of African journalism, by Datcha Ribeiro
    • Freelance journalism between freedom and insecurity, by Martin Banks

Commenting on the launch of the anniversary programme, António Buscardini, President of Press Club Brussels Europe, said: “This 15th anniversary cycle reflects the very DNA of our Club. It is about open debate, journalistic independence, and understanding how communication is evolving in Brussels and beyond.”

The Board meeting was followed by the Club’s first networking reception of the year, bringing together more than 100 members. “The Press Club remains a vital meeting place for dialogue, exchange, and professional connection. This anniversary programme confirms our commitment to serving the media community with relevant and forward looking discussions,” added Laurent Brihay, Director of Press Club Brussels Europe.

Founded in 2010, Press Club Brussels Europe has established itself as a unique hub for journalists and communicators in the heart of the European capital.
