Political developments in Turkey and prospects for democratic change

You are warmly invited to a media breakfast briefing on the latest political developmentsin Turkey and the prospects for democratic change, with members of the foreign policy team of the main opposition’s Presidential Candidate Office (CAO).
The discussion will focus on democratic backsliding in Turkey, the opposition’s domestic and foreign policy perspectives and the possible implications of potential snap elections in 2027 for Turkey and the European Union.
The briefing will also address the lawfare against Ekrem İmamoğlu, the elected Mayor of Istanbul and the main opposition’s presidential candidate, as well as broader concerns about the use of judicial processes against political opponents in Turkey.
