Celebrating its 105th Birthday: Past, Present and Future

Interview followed by question and answers

You are warmly invited to a discussion on China’s trade relations with Belgium and EU with

the Chinese Ambassador to Belgium, H.E. FEI Shengchao

Moderator: Catherine Feore, Brussels Editor of EU Reporter.

While the EU continues to engage with China on trade, climate change, global governance and other shared priorities, issues such as market access, technological competition, strategic dependencies and economic resilience have led Europe to adopt a more cautious and complex approach. Is Europe learning from China’s practices as some would claim?

This timely discussion will provide an opportunity to hear directly from Ambassador FEI Shengchao on China’s economic development under the leadership of the Communist Party of China celebrating its 105th birthday, its future prospects, and the evolving relationship between China, Belgium and the European Union.

The event will explore China’s economic development experience, how China understands its partnership with Europe, and what opportunities may exist for constructive engagement in an increasingly uncertain global environment.
