Detached, distrustful, disengaged? Rethinking democracy in today’s Europe
We are pleased to invite you to the ActEU Final Conference, hosted by the Trans European Policy Studies Association (TEPSA), taking place
on 5 February 2026 at the Press Club Brussels Europe
Is political trust eroding under the pressure of crises and growing polarisation?
Funded under Horizon Europe, the ActEU – Activating European Citizens’ Trust in Times of Crises and Polarization project has been at the forefront of analysing these dynamics. ActEU has generated new evidence on how political trust is formed, eroded and potentially rebuilt in Europe’s multi-level democracies.
As the project reaches its conclusion, we warmly invite you to join the final conference “Detached, distrustful, disengaged? Rethinking democracy in today’s Europe”.
The conference will bring together researchers, policy-makers and practitioners to:
- Exchange evidence-based narratives on trust, legitimacy and polarisation
- Showcase innovative research tools and methodologies
- Discuss actionable solutions to strengthen democratic resilience in Europe
Register now to secure your place and join a full day of lively, interactive panel discussions!
