The role of Eastern Christians in promoting peace in crisis regions such as Lebanon, Armenia and Egypt is deeply rooted in their history, culture and community commitment. Their presence in these regions is ancient, dating back to the first centuries of Christianity, and they continue to play a key role in the social, political and religious dynamics of these regions.
This series of lectures, led by experts from the Institut Chrétiens d’Orient, aims to take stock of the current situation in these countries by offering a historical perspective, starting with Egypt, followed by the complex conflict in Armenia a year after the forced exodus of the 120,000 inhabitants of Nagorno-Karabakh. An analysis will then unravel the historical and geopolitical dimensions of the clashes in Lebanon. Zoom will report live from Beirut, particularly in the context of the fighting that is devastating the south of the country, forcing over a million people to flee their homes.
Finally, the Managing Director of L’Œuvre d’Orient will give his views on the challenges and prospects in all the countries of the Middle East, particularly in the Holy Land, Ukraine and the South Caucasus.
