The new European Commission is shaped in the context of growing concerns about democratic backsliding, internally and externally, including disinformation and the risks it poses. We will explore the challenges facing European democracy in the new political landscape and the EU’s role in responding to democratic challenges globally.

Join our public event with Anna Lührmann, German Minister of State for Europe and Climate, and Věra Jourová, Vice-President of the European Commission for Values and Transparency.

The discussion will be moderated by Richard Youngs, Senior Fellow in the Democracy, Conflict, and Governance Program at Carnegie Europe and co-founder of the European Democracy Hub.
