Invitation to the exclusive screening of Global Humane Society’s latest documentary “Escape From Extinction: Rewilding”, followed by a standing reception.
Global Humane Society, the international arm of Washington-based American Humane Society, builds on nearly 150 years of leadership in advancing the humane treatment of animals. As part of the nation’s oldest and most respected humane organization, their programs, including “No Animals Were Harmed”, the iconic certification program of the film industry, span across conservation, agriculture, tourism, rescue, and working animals, helping to ensure high standards of animal welfare. Just last year alone, their impact included:
- Protecting over 1 billion farm animals
- Assisting, sheltering, and rescuing 85,000+ animals
- Safeguarding 500,000 animals in zoos and aquariums worldwide
The documentary, “Escape from Extinction: Rewilding,” narrated by Academy Award winner Meryl Streep, explores the urgent conservation strategy of rewilding—restoring natural ecosystems by reintroducing native species, particularly apex predators and keystone species. Through stunning cinematography and powerful storytelling, the film showcases successful global efforts to combat species extinction and restore ecological balance. The opening speech before the screening will be personally delivered by Dr. Robin Ganzert, President & CEO of Global Humane Society and the representative of the European Commission.
