Brussels Climate March 2025

PRESS INVITATION – CLIMATE MARCH 2025

On Sunday, October 5, the Climate Coalition – bringing together over 100 organisations including trade unions, health insurance funds, environmental associations, North-South NGOs, youth groups and citizen collectives – will once again take to the streets of Brussels for the CLIMATE MARCH. The call is clear: public money must fund a fair and ambitious climate policy.

The climate crisis is the defining challenge of the 21st century. Our governments have a duty to act decisively to limit climate disruption – not to hit the pause button. Yet billions in public funds are still poured into fossil fuel subsidies – more than €15 billion a year, with no plan to phase them out. Meanwhile, support for home renovation, nature protection and ambitious climate targets is being cut back.

We must invest in our future, not in its destruction.

The Climate Coalition urges governments to shift public financing towards concrete, fair climate action, and to raise ambition to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement – as science demands.

This year’s Climate March will be filled with music and creativity. A lively parade with giant costumes will kick things off. Along the route, DJ sets will energize the crowd, the Rue Belliard will transform into a “Choir Street,” and plenty of other surprises await. The day will conclude at the Cinquantenaire Park with concerts and inspiring speeches.
