As we approach the tenth anniversary of the landmark Paris Agreement, this press release provides a comprehensive assessment of the progress made and the challenges that remain. To offer a clear and evidence-based perspective, we have interviewed five leading Belgian scientists covering four key areas:

  • The Atmosphere & Greenhouse Gas Concentrations: with insights from Martine De Mazière (Royal Belgian Institute for Space Aeronomy).
  • The Biosphere, Oceans, and Cryosphere: featuring analysis from Hans Verbeeck (Ghent University) and Frank Pattyn (Université libre de Bruxelles).
  • Impacts on Society & Extreme Events: explained by Xavier Fettweis (University of Liège).
  • Climate Governance & Legal Frameworks: assessed by Delphine Misonne (UCLouvain Saint-Louis Brussels).

We would be very grateful if you could share any resulting articles with us. This allows us to circulate your work among the featured researchers and our wider scientific community, ensuring they see the impact of their contributions. We also enjoy featuring media coverage in our own communications.

For your information, we have published this text as a news story on our website today. Furthermore, we will be promoting the key findings through a series of daily social media posts on our channels, starting this coming Monday.

Should you have any questions or wish to arrange an interview with one of the experts, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
